15 YEARS 12 MOVES
15 YEARS 12 MOVES
Let our battle wounds be your key to success. The challenges of the transient lifestyle make it difficult to establish a stable career pattern, let alone experience longevity. In fact, 90% of military spouses take jobs beneath their salary grade and qualifications simply because they WANT to work. Jobs that allow military spouses to work remotely - from any location - are key to maintaining career progression despite military relocations. At America's Career Force, we are focused on educating America's employers to facilitate change, create remote opportunities and succeed without boundaries.
LEIGH SEARL, JD
FOUNDER & PRESIDENT
Leigh is a persistent advocate for change whose determination to realize this change led to the creation of America's Career Force.
Leigh is a University of Wisconsin-Madison graduate in Behavioral Sciences and Pre-Law. Leigh has been a military spouse for 15 years and moved 11 times but through it all Leigh has continued to retain a professional focus wherever the Army sent her.
Leigh was lobbying at the local, state, and federal levels in her home state of Wisconsin when she met and fell in love with an Officer in the Army. Before she knew what happened, she was married to the love of her life and living the "dream" in Germany. Sort of.
Leigh was newly married, in Germany and he was living the "dream" in Iraq. Leigh found herself overqualified, underemployed, and selling power tools (impressive right?) across Europe. She wanted to work, found a way, and made a lasting impression with the company.
Then came the orders to Fort Leonard Wood, MO. That move set the stage for a new journey in Leigh's life. Knowing that she wanted more, Leigh persisted and leaned in.
Leigh passionately pursued her dream to obtain her Juris Doctor. The journey was not without obstacles or challenges. Having a second child, during a deployment- easy. Saying goodbye to husband, right after giving birth- no problem. Nursing a 10 day old newborn during law school finals- cakewalk. Hardly. And yet, Leigh persevered.
Leigh graduated from Concord Law School with her Juris Doctor, remotely. Resiliency truly is at the core of the military spouse.
Leigh has a record of success realizing solutions for complex problems. In addition to creating ACF she helped create VNOTES (Veteran Notes Outline Training Education and Service) and authored a short handbook that easily translate military training into corporate speak.
As Managing Director of DeCaro Auctions International, she has built a successful career facilitating real estate auctions on behalf of her clients. As founder of America's Career Force, she is using her business savvy and advocacy skills to help other military spouses find long-term, remote career opportunities.
When she is not focused on new projects, Leigh is enjoying precious moments with her family, mastering her culinary talents, traveling, and fervently avoiding all cardio activities.
