15 YEARS 11 MOVES

A new story was written.

This journey began in our Nation’s capital with orders to move again.  Drawing upon our Founding Father’s determination to change the world as they knew it D.R.E.A.M.S.® was born.  America’s Career Force is a non-profit organization by military spouses for military spouses, connecting career-minded military spouses with businesses across the America.

LEIGH SEARL, JD
FOUNDER & PRESIDENT

Leigh is a persistent advocate for change whose determination to realize this change led to the creation of America's Career Force.

Leigh is a University of Wisconsin-Madison graduate in Behavioral Sciences and Pre-Law.  Leigh has been a military spouse for 15 years and moved 11 times but through it all Leigh has continued to retain a professional focus wherever the Army sent her.

Leigh was lobbying at the local, state, and federal levels in her home state of Wisconsin when she met and fell in love with an Officer in the Army.  Before she knew what happened, she was married to the love of her life and living the "dream" in Germany. Sort of.

Leigh was newly married, in Germany and he was living the "dream" in Iraq. Leigh found herself overqualified, underemployed, and selling power tools (impressive right?) across Europe. She wanted to work, found a way, and made a lasting impression with the company.

Then came the orders to Fort Leonard Wood, MO. That move set the stage for a new journey in Leigh's life. Knowing that she wanted more, Leigh persisted and leaned in.

Leigh passionately pursued her dream to obtain her Juris Doctor. The journey was not without obstacles or challenges. Having a second child, during a deployment- easy. Saying goodbye to husband, right after giving birth- no problem. Nursing a 10 day old newborn during law school finals- cakewalk. Hardly. And yet, Leigh persevered.

Leigh graduated from Concord Law School with her Juris Doctor, remotely. Resiliency truly is at the core of the military spouse.

Leigh has a record of success realizing solutions for complex problems.  In addition to creating ACF she helped create VNOTES (Veteran Notes Outline Training Education and Service) and authored a short handbook that easily translate military training into corporate speak.

As Managing Director of DeCaro Auctions International, she has built a successful career facilitating real estate auctions on behalf of her clients. As founder of America's Career Force, she is using her business savvy and advocacy skills to help other military spouses find long-term, remote career opportunities.

When she is not focused on new projects, Leigh is enjoying precious moments with her family, mastering her culinary talents, traveling, and fervently avoiding all cardio activities.

CAIT MILLER, B.S.B.A.
TALENT RECRUITER

Cait Miller is a Talent Recruiter for America’s Career Force. As a military spouse and professional with a talent management background, Cait was instantly drawn to the work of ACF. Married for two years to an Officer in the Army, Cait quickly experienced the difficulties of maintaining a traditional career alongside her husband’s military career. With a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and specializations in H.R. and Marketing from American University, Cait found a passion for talent management. She began her recruitment career at FTI Consulting in Washington, D.C. and later worked for Discovery Communications in Silver Spring, MD as a Recruiter. There, she had the opportunity to recruit creative talent for TV networks including Discovery Channel, TLC, and Animal Planet. In November 2016, Cait joined the ACF team as a Talent Recruiter. In her role, she strives to match the skills and experiences of military spouses with remote job opportunities that allow them to continue growing their professional career no matter where the military sends them.

As a military spouse and professional with a talent management background, Cait has a passion for helping to connect veterans and military spouses to job opportunities.  Cait used her background in recruitment and talent acquisition to help create the VNOTES resources and services to equip companies with the tools to hire Veteran talent.

Cait’s goal, with her work for both ACF and VNOTES, is to open doors and career opportunities for the men and women that have served our nation.

Outside the world of talent management, Cait enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants and cooking with her husband. While living in Germany, she has developed a love for all types of local European cuisine and on weekends can be found searching for vintage treasures at one of Europe’s many flea markets and antique stores.
