    Understanding Fascial Distortion Model Techniques

    The Fascial Distortion Model or FDM is a technique that physical therapists use to treat pain. It involves assessing and treating issues in your body’s fascia, the layer of connective tissue that wraps around your muscles and organs.     In practice, therapists use FDM techniques to assess your body for any of these six distortions. They then use specific manual methods to address these issues. For example, through touch and observation, a therapist can detect a triggerband and use stretching and pressure to alleviate the problem.
